Who we are and what we offer

FairPick (fairpick.app) provides a collection of free, browser-based random decision tools including a name picker, spin wheel, yes/no generator, team generator, and number generator. We are an independent project, not affiliated with any large organisation.

All tools run entirely in your browser. No data you enter is transmitted to our servers. FairPick is provided as-is, free of charge, for personal and commercial use.

Acceptable use

You may use FairPick's tools freely, including for commercial purposes such as running giveaways, classroom activities, business events, and team-building exercises. We simply ask that you:

• Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape en masse, or otherwise abuse our infrastructure.
• Do not use the site in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations in your jurisdiction.
• Do not attempt to circumvent our advertising (e.g. by injecting scripts to block ads), as ads are how we keep the service free.
• Do not misrepresent FairPick's tools as your own products without attribution.

Ordinary, good-faith use of the tools — for any lawful personal or commercial purpose — is always welcome.

No warranties

FairPick is provided "as is" without any warranty, express or implied. We make no guarantees about:

• The availability or uptime of the service.
• The suitability of the tools for any specific purpose.
• The outcome of any decision you make based on our tools.

The randomness produced by our tools is sourced from your browser's built-in cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues()), which is cryptographically strong. However, we make no legal guarantees regarding the statistical properties of any specific result.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FairPick and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — this website or its tools. This includes any decisions made on the basis of results generated by FairPick's tools.

If you use FairPick to conduct public giveaways, raffles, or similar events, you are solely responsible for complying with applicable laws and regulations governing such activities in your jurisdiction.

Intellectual property

The FairPick name, logo, design, and written content are owned by FairPick's operators. You may not reproduce or redistribute the site's design or branding without permission.

The underlying tool logic and code are the property of FairPick. However, the concept of random selection is free for anyone to implement — we simply ask that you don't pass off our specific implementation as your own.

Third-party services and advertising

FairPick displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. By using the site, you acknowledge that Google may serve personalised or contextual ads using cookies. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements, external links, or the policies of any third-party services. Clicking an advertisement takes you to a third party's website and you interact with that site under their own terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of FairPick after any changes have been posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

We will not make changes that materially worsen users' rights without reasonable notice.

Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from your use of FairPick will be handled in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which FairPick operates. We will always try to resolve disputes amicably in the first instance.
