Indecisive humans
Should you order pizza or salad? The wheel knows. The wheel always knows.
Three rules we hold ourselves to.
It must be fast.
Tools load instantly and run entirely in your browser. No waiting on a server, no spinners that lie, no dark patterns asking you to sign up first.
It must be fair.
Every tool uses your browser's cryptographically-strong random source (the same one used for security keys). No weighted outcomes, no "smart" picking — just genuine randomness.
It must feel good.
A spin should feel like a spin. A pick should land with weight. Animation isn't decoration — it's how you trust the result.
Use the smallest tool that fits the decision.
For a visible group decision
Use Spin the Wheel when the room needs to see the suspense build. It is best for classes, live streams, raffles, icebreakers, and party choices where the animation is part of the trust.
For long lists
Use the Random Name Picker when you have dozens or thousands of entries. A list picker stays readable after a wheel would become too crowded to inspect.
For balanced groups
Use the Team Generator when the result needs to be more than one winner. It shuffles the full list first, then spreads names evenly across teams.
For quick binary choices
Use the Yes / No Generator when the decision is truly two-sided. Turn on maybe mode only when a third outcome is acceptable before you ask.
Random, private, and easy to verify.
FairPick does not send your lists to a server to choose a winner. The browser parses what you paste, removes blank entries, and makes the random choice on your own device. For name and number choices we use crypto.getRandomValues(), a browser randomness API designed for security-sensitive uses. For team generation, we run a Fisher-Yates shuffle with that same random source before splitting names into groups.
That matters in practical situations. A teacher can project the result without uploading a class roster. A giveaway host can screen-record the entire pick. An event organizer can refresh the page, paste the same entries, and see that there is no account, backend queue, or hidden setting changing the odds.
Common questions about FairPick.
Is FairPick really free?
Yes, completely free. Every tool, every feature, no signup, no subscription. We may support the site with non-intrusive advertising, including Google AdSense when it is active. There is no premium tier — randomness should be accessible to everyone.
How is the randomness generated?
We use crypto.getRandomValues() — your browser's built-in cryptographically-strong random number generator. This is the same source used to generate encryption keys and security tokens. It's far more random than Math.random(), with no predictable patterns or seeds you can game.
Is my data sent to your servers?
No. Every tool runs entirely in your browser. The names you type, the questions you ask, the lists you paste — none of it is ever transmitted to or stored on our servers. What you type stays with you. Third-party advertising services may process standard ad-related data when ads are active, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Can I use FairPick for commercial giveaways?
Absolutely. Many businesses, YouTubers, Instagram creators, and TikTok accounts use FairPick to pick giveaway winners publicly. There are no restrictions on commercial use. We recommend screen-recording the pick for transparency with your audience.
Which tool should I use?
Use the Name Picker for long lists of names — it's fastest for large entry counts. Use Spin the Wheel when you want a visual wheel that a group can watch together. Use Yes / No for binary coin-flip decisions. Use Team Generator to split a group into balanced teams. Use Number Generator for lottery picks, dice rolls, or any numbered range.
Does FairPick work on mobile?
Yes. The site is fully mobile-optimised and works on any modern smartphone or tablet. The spin wheel animation runs at 60fps on mobile, and all inputs are touch-friendly. No app to install — just open your browser and go.
